LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT! This is my first time reading one of Lisa's series and I'm wondering why I haven't come across this amazing writer before now as I sometimes read 2-3 books a week. I love her writing style, there's no annoying angst that drags the story along, no painful heroines that are weak and whiny, she fits into my type of action, love, heat and sex with a perfect flow of tension. I know, I know, you're asking why the 4 star rating, well I'm a harsh reviewer and 4.5 is the glass ceiling for me and you can't go up from there.I also loved that all the complete series are available to read, so I devoured the three of them within days. Well done Lisa I can't wait to read more of your books.
Very good story about the Cartel with this the third part of the series. The second book ended on a cliffhanger with Hattie being kidnapped by another Cartel because their daughter had been taken and her brother shot by Ryker and Rever. So much happens in this last book including the kidnapping, torture, betrayals, attempted takeover, attempts to remove all threats including the Senator who is on the drug cartel payroll from the U.S., murder, and some really hot hot sex scenes. Hattie came off as loyal, intelligent, loving, and yet tough when the going got rough. Ryker was loving, caring, intelligent, struggled to work everything out and so protective of Hattie. Good finish to the series.
The storyline flowed well and I really enjoyed the scenes between the two of them as they got more and more involved in every very intense action. The story of Ryker Vargas and Hattie Covington was astonished full of betrayal, secrets, violence and mayhem. Hattie story was a little heartbreaking to me I just can not get her parents attitude out of my head especially her mother. The drama was at an all time high, and the mafia backdrop only heightened it's appeal and gives the reader more action. Overall, I recommend this to all the romance readers out there that like mafia alpha males in their books. If alpha males are not your thing, then I would suggest you stay away from this one. An Amazing Story!
Once again, Lisa Cardiff nailed it! The conclusion to Hattie and Rykers story was perfect!From beginning to end .. This book had me drawn it with all things going on.. I didn't want to put it down.Loving the fact that the series is written in Dual POV, it keeps you wondering what's going on with either Hattie when reading Rykers POV and vice versa. The angst, action and the unexpectentcies keeps you on edge.So good! I'd give it more than Five Stars!
This is the third and final book in this series and they must be read in order. I loved this book and it was a great completion of the series. Hattie has been kidnapped by the Alvarez Cartel because Rever and Ryker took Anna Alvarez. It doesn't matter that they didn't kidnap Anna Alvarez, that they were just doing what she asked them too. Ryker is going out of his mind, yet another reason Hattie is better off without him. He is determined to get her back and make this right. He makes the ultimate sacrifice to rescue Hattie; he agrees to join his father's cartel in order to get the help he needs to rescue her. Ryker is torn between what he has promised Hattie and the deal he has made with his father. He can't risk Hattie's life be in danger anymore. Ryker is learning that more is going on with his father's cartel than anyone knows. He may have to risk himself and Hattie to get the future they both want. Will everything work out? Is there a traitor in the cartel? This book is a bit less emotional than the others. However there was that one part where I was hesitant to read because you know Ryker is going to do something stupid that could end his relationship with Hattie for good. I have loved this whole series and look forward to reading other books by Lisa in the future. The characters in this series are great. I felt like I was pulled into the book and a part of their world. The books were wonderfully written and engaging. I can't say enough about this book or the series.I was given this book in return for an honest review.
I liked this series a lot. I loved the heroes and their willingness to fight for their happiness. What seemed impossible at first became their hea. An action packed cartel novel that I recommend to everyone interested in this genre.
I wasn't sure about these books but stumbled on them. They sounded like they could be good but I wasn't sure. This is the conclusion of there story. You must read the other two to understand this one. This is a must read!
