The book has some great features and interesting topics, and it reads quite well. However, in terms of taking a course with this textbook, it is horrible. Mathematical concepts are attempted to be explained but never applied in examples, the end-of-chapter questions have answers that are unexplained and thus prove to be excessively counter-productive. Horrible for students who are trying to understand and pass macroeconomics, great for people going back and trying to re-learn theoretical concept.
Excellent textbook which made up for a lack of teaching from my macroeconomics professor. However there are errors in diagrams and graphs throughout the textbook which are confusing and inhibit learning. Staring at something you're learning for the first time and not understanding why it isn't in line with your reasoning, then figuring out after 30 minutes that things are mislabeled and missing is a frustrating experience which subtracts a star from the textbooks rating.
One of the greatest advantages of this edition is the chapter dedicated to the 2008/2009 world crisis. I strongly recommend to pupils and to professors also.
Excellent intermediate macro text book with better international coverage than most and a concise explanation of the financial crisis.
A very well written book. Very interesting "boxes." I would like, and expected, to see the integration of Financial Derivatives in the Capital market and the incorporation of "effort" in the labor market. Is about bringingl LIFE to Macroeconomics.Jose Antonio Herrero
This is an excellent book and helped me get an A- in my economics class. As long as you pay attention and study, you should do well.
Comprehensive, up to date, and not too dense. Highly recommend this textbook for introductory macroeconomics. Price is a bit steep though, get the ebook.
A great teaching aid. I used this in a MBA macro econ class. It's clearly written with solid insights into macro events and theories.
