Talk to your professor to see if you can get an earlier edition. The only thing that changes is the cover and foreword and maybe a few of the chapter examples but you can alway get the e-book or workbook to supplement an older textbook. That being said, be sure before you buy and if worse case, I have a used copy you can buy for bottom basement price.
This book is available Online at Pearson Website for Cheaper as an E-Book. The Description does not state if it comes with a MyEconLab Access Code. So that you don't make the same mistake I did Ill tell you it does not. This means you have to go buy an access Code from Pearson which is another $60.00. On that same Website you can buy the Access Code and E-Book for $100.00. Sadly you wont know it doesn't have the access code until you take off the plastic wrap. Then you can't return the book for any money back. I recommend exploring all other options before coming here to buy the book even thought it was still cheaper than my College Book Store.
The access card was misprinted. When I contacted Pearson, they told me there was nothing they would do. I cannot access "mylab" without it, and therefore am unable to complete my homework. The best I can do is return my entire text, and hope the next has a properly printed form. I am now without a text and access to the cite. This is a lot of work for one small code. Way to go Pearson.
I bought this, knowing the ISBN didn't match the course textbook ISBN, but assumed that because this included the "My Econ Lab", that was the reason for the difference. I was wrong. It showed up with a CD and a book that was the size of a workbook. Like 150 pages, not 400-something like it should have.I'm may saying anything bad about the material, just saying not to expect the full-blown textbook.
WARNING: This textbook and another textbook ("Principles of Microeconomics") by the same author have virtually the same cover. Therefore, be certain that this is the correct textbook for your course before renting/buying.
Hated the class. It does not help you if you need to just read the book. It is not good at explaining what is going on unless you have a base knowledge of the topic. Which is hard because this is an intro course.
This was a used paperback text with fair condition. Had lots of stickers all over the cover. Upon attempting to sell the book we discovered it was the instructor's manual with sticker's placed over the label to obscure where it stated that is was an instructor version. That said we were able to use the text for the class but unable to sell it used due to the fact that book buyer do not want instructor versions. Buying used textbooks online can be dicey as this experience showed. This book was not as advertised.
This book was great. It has a lot of extras on the pages, like history, examples, graphs, stuff like that. The diction makes it very easy to understand. The only downside is that it is physically a flimsy book. It easily gets bent since it's made from a magazine style paper. So just keep that in mind when you put it in your backpack, since the corners bend easily.
