This is my new favorite book to read to my kids. Love the story. He tells his friends goodnight, goes home gets ready for bed(brushing teeth etc), than his mom reads a goodnight story to him (a good story within the story) also the illustrations are of nice quality. Wish they would make a good morning version also
Cute little book. I even put it on my blog. This book tells how the turtle tells all his friends goodnight, he tells them why it is important to sleep, and also tells the scared lion that everything will be alright. He brushes his teeth and momma reads him a story before he goes to sleep. I enjoyed reading this book to my daughter tonight before I put her to bed. She enjoyed this book and the illustrations are really nice. They help to hold the little one's attention. I recommend this book to all.
My toddler absolutely loves this book! It is very nice to read pictures and words appropriately placed for easy reading for adult and baby. Most other books I have found that I thought she would like are terrible to read. You literally have to jump threw hoops to read anything. I wish there were more amazing options to keep toddlers into reading.Thank you for this book. We read it at least 1 time a week.I got this product free or heavily discounted for my honest review. If I love it or hate it you will definitely know! If this review helped you please give it a thumbs up.
Our twins - currently 3-and-a-half - used to take ages to get to sleep. We even tried "natural" medicines like Melatonin, and while that worked great in helping them go to sleep in 15 minutes or so, we found them waking up middle of the night with left over energy from before they went to sleep. The best way seemed to be to let them fall asleep themselves, rather than forcing their bodies to do so. Falling asleep themselves meant calming down internally, and there was no "left over energy" to wake them up middle of the night. We tried music, then books, then the Kindle readers on our tablets - as the books got damaged, lost, or generally unavailable at bedtime. After randomly trying out many Kindle books for 3-5 year age range, we gravitated towards the Lily Lemon Blossom series, and then this book - "Good Night Little Turtle" - and another very similar book - "The Zebra Says Shhhh".Lily Lemon Blossom books are great to capture their attention and get them lying down and listening / looking at the books on tablet readers. The Good Night Little Turtle and/or Zebra Says Shhhh are heavy artillery that come out once the kids are calmed down - or about 1 to 2 Lily Lemon books down the line. Both of these books have the same theme - reiterating the fact that the animals are going off to sleep on about every other page. The kids seem to love this. The turtle and all his friends go to sleep - including the tiger, who features in a story-in-a-story for the turtle to listen to before the turtle goes to sleep.I've rarely had to read this book twice. I have no idea how it works, but this is amazing.
My daughter has loved this book for at least a year now (she is 22 months old as I type this). We read it on the iPad, never just once. LOVES it. The illustrations are adorable too. That said, the reason I'm giving it four instead of five stars is because I wish the rhyming pattern was more consistent throughout the book (some pages have six or seven lines, others only four, etc.). It's a small, nit-picky thing to be sure, but consistency would've made the book absolutely perfect for both of us.
Downloaded this for my son who's a hesitant reader. He did very well with it and although it's a bit repetitive, it was just what he needed to be able to read easy enough to feel confident but not so easy that he felt babied.
I just read this story to my granddaughter. She thinks it's great. She likes that the little turtle brushed his teeth before bed. I liked the full page art work, and larger print. A good e-book. A must have for a child's library.
The story was very cute. Both my 5 yr old daughter and 2 yr old son enjoyed it and requested to have it read to them again and again.
