I am a potter and I bought this book as a reference book. Although I bought a used book, the book arrived in pristine condition and in the original plastic wrapping.The photos are sharp giving a clear image of what the pot looks like. The essays.... I skipped over some of them. The introduction was interesting, but my primary use for this book is as a reference for arts and crafts pottery.Well worth buying.
After visiting the Newcomb Pottery museum in New Orleans, I wanted to see more of the ceramics of that period. This book gives good information and absolutely beautiful pictures. Highly recommend the book.

This book is very informative as to the background of the Pottery, the lives of the potters and decorators and gives you insight into the time and place all this was going on. Also included are wonderful pictures of various Newcomb Pottery ceramics, along with textiles, illustrations, metalwork and other Pottery crafts.Essentially, if you are a collector of or simply a fan of Newcomb Pottery, this book is something to own and be enjoyed. It is as simple as that.
