Finally a book from an expert calligrapher with tons of inspirational ideas on how to create decorated lettering with a variety of media. Jan also includes a nice set of examplars of basic hands and Lombardic versals for those new to calligraphy who need good forms to copy. It's hard to imagine any calligrapher or lettering enthusiast who wouldn't find this book a great addition to their library.There's a rule in book publishing that there is always room in every genre for 3 books: The first, the cheapest, and the best. This is so far the best. Well done.I would give a more detailed review, but I purchased the first copy for our calligraphy guild's library and it was checked out immediately. (Now I am ordering a copy for myself!)
