When I ordered this book I was very excited. I am just learning to play the mandolin, and thought this would contain a great selection to learn from. While there are some solid songs a lot of the ones that I was very familiar with were already featured in a learn to play the mandolin book. It seems like they could have put some more well loved songs that are not as widely available.There was a lot of good planning with the layout of this book. I do appreciate that there is an great effort made to have the pages of the song lay open if it is two pages. The layout and spacing varies from song to song in an attempt to use the whole page. I really did not care for that, as there is quite a bit of awkward white spacing.
Great songs, clear chording, perfect for beginners such as myself. Mandolin is great for camping as compared with guitar, this book has perfect songs for such occasions
I would recommend this book for the novice as well as intermediate player. Easy to follow and even includes tab for those that rely on this form.
Nice easy folk tunes. I've been playing for maybe 3 months and could sight read almost the entire book.
