Before buying this book it is key to understand that it is a work of art, rather than a book to be read page to page. The original is in the Jewish Museum in New York. The book is about a daughter processing her mother's death using a book of the bible and her art as a vehicle to do so. The author was only 11 when her mother died. This book is the grown woman, now a mother herself who created a memorial using the bible and her art as her source to understand the loss, the sadness and move beyond. It is emotionally, visually rich and complex and deeply moving.
So very beautiful, exquisite and memorable is Anna Henriques book that I recommend EVERYONE to give this to their beloved on Valentine's day. Though it is a book for Every Day, one that will decorate your home and warm your heart. It's Golden.
