Harold Shipman - The True Story of Britain's Most Notorious Serial KillerThe man on the cover of this book looks like he could be anyone's grandfather. It's easy to imagine him doting on his little grandkids, reading them stories from his lap and letting them play with his big, bushy beard. If you were told he was a doctor, I bet you'd imagine he was a good, kind and gentle one, with an easy, affable manner and deep care for his patients.Harold Frederick Shipman certainly projected all those qualities, but only so that he could hide the evil that lurked deep inside. Shipman abused his trust and used his position to kill – no less than 218 of his patients found their end at his hand, making him the United Kingdom's most prolific serial killer by a long shot. This book tells Shipman's story, from his childhood under a domineering mother to his pathetic death in a prison cell. It will put you in the perspective of those who lived and worked in proximity to him, showing you the considerate but sometimes haughty doctor he presented himself as before taking you through the process of wrenching off that mask and uncovering the full extent of the evil festering within. We will make a study of the man's possible motives and close with a look at the systemic failures that allowed him to kill and steps taken to make sure nothing like his murderous spree ever happens again.Scroll up and click on the Buy Now button at the top of this page and begin to look into the life and mind of the ultimate human paradox: the healer who kills ‘Doctor Death’.

The book Harold Shipman: The True Story of Britain's Most Notorious Serial Killer was interesting. I had never heard of this particular serial killer and was surprised that he was a physician. What was most surprising was that there was no real system of checks and balances that prevented him from obtaining access to so many opiate medications. He must've been extremely charming because of his ability to obtain the trust of his colleagues and patients. The other weird thing to me was that I was surprised that no one in the community realized that so many patients died under his care. The authors writing is okay and I do agree that he probably should have done more research. Nevertheless, I recommend this book and intend to read more books from this author.

because when the healthy old timers become sick wants recuperating . I read about group they help a terminal illness person, I think everyone has expiration date and don't need a person with license to kill them.Highly recommended.

True crime is my favorite genre. Harold Shipman: The True Story, etc. didn't disappoint. It boggles the mind that this monster posing as a caring medical professional wasn't caught much sooner! I remember when this happened, even though it wasn't huge news in the USA. Not wanting to give much away to anyone who hasn't read this book yet, I'll just say if you enjoy true crime books, read this one.

Fascinating true story of ,England's most prolific serial murderer ,Dr.Harold Shipman. He was not a shadowy figure who crept around in the dark, hunting victims. No; he had access to his victims because he came off as a caring physician. Therefore he was certainly a monster. The book is very well-written,and was well researched .

Very impressive! It's an intense true story! I cannot say much more about this book than the other review, however, I can highly recommend it. It was by far one of the best books I have ever read pertaining to serial killers and everything in between. The author adds a slight comical touch to his writing which makes it a definite hook book, and gives a broad range of topics covered to peak anyone interest. So much worth recommending to others!

I enjoyed this book very much. It was informative and written in a way that is easily understood by anyone. The subject matter was interesting and horrific at the same time. Very few typos. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

Harold Frederick Is one scary guy and I would challange anyone out there that is in to understanding the psyche of Serial Killers do download this book and give it a go. 218 unexpected victims lost their lives because of this average looking man and the entire story is true! I really enjoyed the ability to go back in time to Shipman's childhood to understand the what the formula is that creates such a horrific person. It's like a scary story but better and I went through an emotional rollercoaster as I pressed on through the pages.

I gave this book 5 star's because it gives you a different way of thinking. Even if you have read the story of Harold Shipman before the author makes you think of the killings and killer in new ways, he brings up questions that make you think.
