The Mysterious Death Of Elisa Lam
Ebooks To Download

Elisa Lam was a 21-year-old Canadian student at the University of Brish Columbia whose body was discovered in a water tank atop the Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles. She had been reported missing for over a month when maintenance workers finally discovered her body when the tenants began complaining bout the water supply. Her mysterious disappearance became an Internet phenomenon, which showcased elevator security footage of Lam talking and gesturing outside. Some claim that the video was evidence of Lam's bipolar disorder, others claim a paranormal explanation while a small minority believe the footage has been tampered with.

Investigative author Christina Barrett examines the troubled life and shocking death of Elisa Lam, a Canadian-Chinese student who spoke fluent English and Cantonese, and attended the University of Columbia in Vancouver B.C. in this fascinating, informative, and well researched: "The Mysterious Death of Elisa Lam".Although the beautiful 21 year old Lam (b. April 30, 1991) had attended the University for three years, she had completed only a few classes. There was a tremendous social and cultural stigma associated with her SMI (serious mental illness). Despite being closely monitored, and often heavily medicated, Lam struggled to maintain her mental stability. With an active presence on social media, including a blog, Lam was dismayed over her inability to maintain friendships and romantic prospects, she seemed terribly lonely and misunderstood. This was likely due to her emotional intensity and mood swings related to her mental condition/diagnosis.During Lam's vacation/holiday on her self-described "West Coast Tour" she traveled alone to California to tour San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. She arrived in LA on January 26, 2013. Curiously, she checked into the notorious historic Cecil Hotel. The hotel featured affordable rates with a hostel, but had a disturbing frightening history and reputation associated with suicide deaths, serial killers, and paranormal activity. When Lam failed to contact her worried parents for scheduled check-in calls they contacted the LAPD immediately.Barrett thoroughly explained the circumstances surrounding Lam's mysterious disappearance and death, and why she disagrees with the official findings and related reports, drawing her own conclusions based on facts. This brief e-read of this sad tragic case is very intriguing, with many details not found online. Highly recommended for fans of the true crime genre.

Nothing here you couldn't glean from sites like youtube--well hardly anything. Very short and could have used a better editor. There were a multitude of grammar and spelling errors, missing words and similar gaffes in the text. A waste of time and money in my opinion.

This was a good summary of the known facts of this odd case. I appreciated the inclusion of some of Elisa's tumblr entries. I found many typos and grammar errors, which is always a turn off- if you're going to publish a book, proofread. Also, some more photos of Elisa and the location where the death occurred would have greatly added to this short read. I don't regret this purchase, but can't give it a ringing endorsement.

Ugh...First of all, the amount of grammatical errors are absolutely ridiculous!. I have come to expect a few errors in almost all ebooks, but this takes the cake! The worst part, however, is the content. This lacks even the most basic elements of an investigation. There is nothing in the content that is new or couldn't be found with a quick google search. I doubt the author even visited the Cecil Hotel which is investigation 101. Then comes the grand finale of endings which reads like a story told around a campfire seeming to suggest the ghost of Richard Ramirez (The Night Stalker) had something to do with her death. Yeah...I dont even know what to say about that. I think the lack of any real/physical research or examination makes this entirely speculation. And, the analysis of her mental state sounds like a 1st year psych student.* Directly to the author: While the mystery surrounding Elisa Lam's tragic death is interesting and deserves further investigation, she was a person. I would be horrified for her family to read your "work" (or lack there of). If you want to be taken seriously as a true crimes/investigative author I suggest you delve muuuuuch deeper, pound some pavement, and learn to treat your subject with some RESPECT!

Very interesting book, well researched and eductional. I had a few thoughts on this case, especially with the elevator video. I don't wish to speculate or give away any spoilers but will definitely recommend it to anyone familiar with Elisa Lam and to true crime buffs. It is well worth the read.

Interesting read, interesting conclusions. Sad case. Unfortunately, another indictment of the mental health system and how we don't help the mentally challenged. Maybe we would have been alive today had people been more sensitive to her plight.
