I am a piano teacher, and I like using this series for students - it's very straightforward. The top of each page, or each lesson, is a brief explanation; and the bottom half has short "homework" assignments. After about 3 or 4 lessons, there is an assignment to review those lessons. At the end of the book is a student test, which goes over all the material learned in the book. Very easy to use.
I am an adult taking piano lessons, and I am using this to supplement my lessons and learn the fundamentals of theory. It is divided page-by-page into short lessons, which are very straightforward. I do supplement this with a textbook, which gets a little more into the nitty-gritty. It is indeed a workbook, not a "browsebook" :)
This series of Music Theory may seem to look old or out dated but the thing is music theory does not change. They are very well written. I have have learned a lot!!!
Follows the first book in this series. Very detailed assignments, lots of practice exercises. Great piano theory book, easy enough for children.
