Amazing book. I wouldn't go aa far as saying this book changes my life, but it definitely molded my perception of the world. Every string player should read this book.
Some nice biography-like stories, but I personally am not very interested in biographies. But, that alone wouldn't warrant 3 stars-- while Suzuki methods are brilliant, I don't believe some of the things he says like: "It made me realize that any child is able to to display highly superior abilities if only the correct methods are used in training".
I wish someone had given me this book before my first child was born. A very beautiful, inspiring view of life and human potential.
I loved this method. It is the best thing for all children. I would recommend it to anyone who has children.
Could music be the weapon that stops all war? This book should be placed into the hands of each expand mother and be part of the training in Lamaze classes. Suzuki's method is powerful for any age, even a grandmother like me at 67.
I recommend this book to anyone who works with children, but especially parents and teachers of young musicians. Suzuki's love and respect of children is truly inspiring and infectious, even through the pages of this book.
I was moved to tears by Dr Suzuki's compassionate, wholistic and enlightened approach to raising children. A must-read for every parent.
