This is the bible for elementary school dance in music class. It has a wealth of dance information. But, as a non-dancer, I found the descriptions of the dances very hard to understand. Even though the author tries to break the steps down, I just didn't get it. I tried to use it to learn the Doudlebska Polka, but I just couldn't understand it at all. I finally went on youtube and understood it in a second from watching it. If you teach elementary music, you probably need to own this book, but I don't use it much since it's so hard to understand.**update: if you have the money, there's now a 6 dvd set breaking down all the dances in this book! Pricey, but SO worth it for the elementary music teacher!

I have wanted to purchase this book for many years and finally found it on for a great price. The book was in perfect condition and I use it over and over in my elementary music classroom.

a GREAT book for anyone looking to add movement to their classes. Be sure to buy the CDs too-they go great together.
