This book covers the history of Scottish dancing in great detail. It starts with the earliest written mentions and pictorial representations of Scottish dancing, and takes it forward to the 20th century. If you are really interested in the history of Scottish dancing, this book is worth its price. Otherwise, you would be better off with a general book covering dances and a little bit of history.The only thing to note about this book is that it doesn't cover all of the sources in the earliest period--there is still a lot of material out there. However, it does provide a good starting point for futher research.
