As a guitarist, I thought I get this book to add some enlightment in the realm of the bass guitar. The lessons are not just exercises but great concepts to work from. The grooves in the book are actual catchy grooves that are practical and fun to learn! . Rather than learn a couple of ideas and lessons and then put the book on a on a shelf, I actually felt drawn to learn the other ideas that book had to offer. The book is still on my music stand and still being used when I practice the bass guitar.
This book + CD would have been a lot better if the first track was just the bass by itself. On the bass with accompaniment lines you can barely hear the bass. Unless you're already a good enough bass player to play the tracks from the music / tab the bass with accompaniment lines don't help much. Tracks for each groove of bass only, bass with accompaniment, accompaniment only and this would be a four or five star item. As it is it's barely two star.

Has complete songs and tabs, easy to read, large print, this is the type of book I look for when I shop
The book arrived quickly, but the CD that originally was with it did not accompany it. As a teacher, I use the CD alot with this book and would have liked to have had it.
