In this honest, no-nonsense book by one of the greatest American stars the NHL has ever known, Jeremy Roenick showcases his skill as a hockey storyteller In his one-of-a-kind way, Roenick shares stories from his 20-year career with the Chicago Blackhawks, Phoenix Coyotes, Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings, and San Jose Sharks, providing an inside perspective on the oddities of life as a pro athlete. He explains why he openly considered the pros and cons of fighting a fan, opens up about tales of partying on road trips, and even how he became friends with former Vice President Dan Quayle. In one chapter, Roenick lends the pen to his wife, Tracy, to tell her side of the story. Nothing is held back as J. R. reveals his opinions about teammates, opponents, and the future of the game.

Wow, is this book bad. I picked it up after listening to Roenick interviewed on a sports radio station in Chicago. During the interview, his stories were all over the place but, knowing radio interviews, I figured they were simply getting him to hit some high points. Little did I know the book was written with the same lack of organization as the interview. It seems to be a stream of consciousness book with Roenick rambling on about several unrelated topics that end up in the same chapter. Roenick seems to set a record for the use of the word "I" and never allows you to forget the high opinion he has of himself. I loved you as a player, J.R., and rooted for you many times during your days playing at Chicago Stadium. During my reading if this book, however, I realized my cheers were reserved for his on-ice actions. Applause and cheers need not be reserved for the pen of this egotistical, felt-centered masturbation.

Another great book by JR...Really enjoyed JR's first book, was excited to see he had written a follow up book...tons of great hockey and golf anecdotes and honest no holds barred opinions from JR on hockey and life in general.....Like his first book, many hilarious stories that will have you laughing out loud.,Couldn't put it down. finished it in two sittings. Great job JR...thanks for another super entertaining read..

JR wants to own and run a hockey team. This was an open letter to the commish about what a great guy he is, not necessarily was and what a great Parents he and his wife, Tracey are, how he would run a hockey team and what great respect he has for Bettman.

Thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish... Felt like I was sitting in a bar with the man listening to him reflect back on his career and life telling it like it is, the good, the bad and everything in between. To be honest much more than I was expecting - thanks for letting us in JR :)

Just love the honesty and the stories. Jr is a really decent guy who is not afraid to share so many important moments from his life. He leaves everything out there. The stories in this book are great. If you liked his first book, you'll love this one.

This is a nice slice of history as well as an inspirational tale. Great writing by a great guy. Even non-hockey fans can learn something from this. Some of this is philosophy for life and building character.

I bought this book for my husband. He kept reading it and laughing so much I had to pick it up and give it a read. I was extremely impressed with how well the narrative was. Roenick engaged you with each story he told about his career, family and friends. It was like you could picture sitting at a bar with him listening to his tales. It also gave me a new appreciation for the man. I knew he loved his fans but to read the stories touches your heart. It makes me know that I chose the right man to follow. My favorite story was about the cat. It was wrong and made me laugh so hard I was crying. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves hockey or enjoys a few hilarious stories.

Not bad. Just not great. JR is still a fascinating person and I would still recommend. C+/B-. Go Flyers. #97
