Luis Suarez: Crossing The Line - My Story
Ebooks To Download

Luis Suárez was a young boy already in love with football by the time his family moved from the countryside to Uruguay's capital, Montevideo. The guile and trickery of the street kid made an impact with the country's biggest club, Nacional, before he was spotted by Dutch scouts who brought him to Europe.Suárez was lured from Ajax to Merseyside by another iconic number 7, Kenny Dalglish. From that moment, he terrorised Premier League defences, driving a resurgent Liverpool towards their most exciting top-flight season in 24 years. But there is another side to Luis Suárez: the naturally fiery temperament which drives his competitiveness on the pitch. There was the very public incident with Patrice Evra of bitter rivals Manchester United, and the biting of Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic. Then during the World Cup finals in Brazil, in a physical encounter against Italy, he bit defender Giorgi Chiellini on the shoulder. Banned from football for four months, derided by the press, he was marched out of the country. In the summer's final twist, he became one of the most expensive footballers of all time, moving from Liverpool to Barcelona. In his first season at the Nou Camp he helped Barca to La Liga and Copa del Rey titles, scoring 16 goals in 27 games. In Crossing the Line, Luis Suárez talks from the heart about his intriguing career, his personal journey from scrapping street kid to performer on football's biggest stage, and the never-say-die attitude that sometimes causes him to overstep the mark.

Many who follow European soccer have probably asked themselves, "Why does Luis Suarez behave the way he does?" This book does a lot to answer that question. If you only know the headlines about Suarez, it's easy to write him off as yet another spoiled bad-boy athlete whose behavior is tolerated because of his talent. But if you look just a little bit deeper, it's obvious that isn't the whole story. This is a person who has overcome obstacle after obstacle to get where he is today, not just in terms of his career, but also in his personal life. The chapter where he talks about his wife and what he went through to be with her is touching. Check this book out if you want to know what's going on behind the headlines!

Good read. You get a feeling for what goes on inside Luis head. Without the intensity, you won't get the player. I think if Luis is ever in a situation where he must win but does not look like he will, his frustration will boil over and another biting incident will occur.

This is an entertaining read that describes the dramatic journey of a brilliant player, from his time playing as a child in the callejón—a crime-ridden alley in a rough part of Montevideo—through to his transfer to Barcelona to play in front of 98,000 at the Camp Nou at the start of the 14/15 season. The book moves roughly chronologically through his time at Nacional, at Groningen and Ajax, and then at Liverpool, as well as the two world cup campaigns, and the victorious Copa América campaign. There are also short chapters interspersed describing his thoughts on miscellaneous subjects such as referees, fame, money, managers etc. Suarez has been a champion at all the clubs he has played for, and for his country. He will go down as one of the all-time greats.

The book was a very interesting read into the minds of one of the world's best forwards detailing his story from small towns in Uruguay to the Camp Nou.There are some very well written emotional chapters in this book about the tears after Crystal Palace, the bitings and then incident with Evra. The real gems are the sections on his interactions with his managers (Martin Jol, Rodgers, van Basten), his teammates (Glen Johnson!) and one piece on EPL referees!

This guy is amazing ... A legend in the making like Pele - from humble beginnings to being on top of the world of football and living his dream while managing to stay fit physically and mentally. Not an easy task when the tools are not there. Loved the book and hope to read Part II in ten years from now.

You should definitely check it out! It is very long but is still really good. For Suarez fans and haters alike, this is a great book

It's more of a biography but Suarez writes his journey with honesty. Good book to communicate with the demons within us!

Good read. Interesting look into the journey of a poor player to fame
