I always told my residents and fellows that most you need to learn for business and life you can learn by paying attention to European soccer, the players, the team interactions, the managers, the owners, different country "styles" etcCarlo Ancelotti wrote a masterful book, clearly the best book on applied leadership I have read in a long time.I have already given it to 10 of my family and closest associatesWaiting for his Bayern München addendum....
Here's what I learned from this book after skimming through it in less than an hour. A football manager has to deal with five different groups of people: the owner of the club, the background staff, the players, the fans, and the media, It is therefore important to leave much of the work to others. With regard to the players, if one of them turns up late or parties too hard before matches, someone else needs to straighten them out, someone else has to do the negative stuff so the manager deals with all the positive and remains in good relations with the team so they perform their best for him. Of course, I learned this from one quick read. I am sure there is much more valuable stuff about how to be a top manager once I take a second more detailed look through these pages.Freak Out! Interesting to read about his quiet leadership style and what he has managed to do - both AS player and manager. Seems like he is a great person as well as a world class manager
