Solid in terms of highlighting several things that I didn't know. I've been a HUGE Timbaland fan ever since I heard Luv 2 Luv U, The Rain, and Up Jumps da Boogie. Great to hear how he has overcome so much adversity in his life to produce music for over 20 years. Fun fact: He was in a group for a short time with Pharrell, another great producer. It's a quick read that provides more insight about perhaps the most innovative musical mind of our time. I wish I could hear the story behind every song, but the insight that he provides makes it good. I'd recommend it to anyone who is a music fan and especially anyone who has been forced to put a song produced by Timbaland on repeat.
Wow. I felt like I was sitting on the couch having a casual conversation with Timbaland! I loved it. Such an easy read and I feel like we are somehow friends. I'm 10 years older but but my passion was to be a recording or sound engineer. Becoming a single mother at 18 I was unable to pursue that dream I did go for my second choice though and became a Respiratory therapist. Wonderful book by one of the best!!!!!!!!!
Timbaland is a magnificent producer and I've been listening to his music since I was a child. It was really cool to be able to read about his life and find out some interesting details regarding some of his greatest collaborations.
Learned a lot about Timbaland that I didn't know before, like how much he struggled in the beginning of his career and how he essentially grew up with Pharrell Williams. Not the best music biography out there, but an easy and very interesting read nonetheless.
as a middle aged white woman, I knew his name, but nothing about his work. After reading his book I came away with a clearer understanding of how hard he has worked to get where he is, and I appreciate his message of the importance of having passion, but also the work ethic, character and trustworthiness that makes him the man and creative talent he is.
Timbaland has and always be the greatest producer in my eyes. I've never been into books but this one kept me interested the whole way through. It has also made me look at certain individuals in a different light. My only minor tidbit was that I wish he touched on a couple of other points in his career. I would have read the extra 50-100 pages that entailed. But overall a good read for the casual fan or somebody who has an interest in autobiographies. this book alone has me excited to read more books and not just autobiographies
Surprisingly good read. I've always been a fan but didn't realize he was working a memoir until I heard about it on NPR of all place. Overall very detailed and gives some insight into musicians perspective on music, sounds etc!
I considered myself fairly familiar with Timbaland and his career, but after reading this book, I have even more respect for him. Sadly, I'm the type to buy a book and take years to read it, but I read this page turner in less than a week.
