If you are into scriptures and reading the bible I recommended you read this book. You know I made many attempts to read the bible and many times I did not understand the scriptures. I like what Kurt has done in this book, with each phrase from a chapter of the bible, he wrote his opinions and thoughts which had me thinking deeply about these phrases as well.Especially about the one about Adam and Eve in the garden and Eve picking the apple. I have heard many people, myself including, blaming Eve for her and Adam being expelled from the Garden of Eden. But now thinking about it, Adam was at her side when she was picking the apple and he allowed her pick the apple.I strongly suggest that you read this book, put you thoughts on paper and maybe contact the author and have a dialogue about your thoughts and opinons.
This book is, as the subtitle suggests, the simple reflections of an ordinary Christians on Scripture. In this case, Genesis. (He has others as well.) The comments are not scholarly or stuffy. I think you will find them fresh and warm. It feels like having a conversation with a friend about Scripture.
A Great Insight to the book of Genesis! This part of the bible has always fascinated me and it was great to read the authors view of it! Not just a read for Christians but for everyone looking to lean more about the word!
It's the second book from Kurt Olson I read. His style and simple down to earth explanation of biblical text is refreshing and makes it easy to understand and get a better grip on texts that were written thousands of years ago where you can easily get lost in the meaning of it all. I especially liked the way the author's style, the amazment at the creation, the question he asks himself along the way as we all do when reading it. I enjoyed the chapter on family trees the most as it is inspiring to read and interesting to me. Biblical texts can be long to read, hard to understand and even boring in some parts but having this companion book along the way really helps. Thank you for writting them in a style I can easily understand and relate to.
