This is a nice book to whom wants to learn about fundamentals like position, type of mallets to use, how to use, how to read the music, how to play the music and others stuffs.As a plus, it has complete musics of different types like jazz, tango, etc.Cool.
I got this book to work on my sight reading. The reading studies in every section are great practice for that! I'd also recommend this book to any beginner reader, maybe even intermediate to allow more musicality while reading easier material.
The Fundamental Method for Mallets book is an excellent source for learning to play any of the mallet instruments !!!Each excercize is clearly explained and rhythms are written out in standard music notation in easy to read print. It also includes some very helpful photo illustrations. The book takes you through the basic steps of playing mallet instruments with progressive excercises from the beginner's level through more advanced rhythms and 4 mallet playing. Highly recommended in order to develop a good playing technique !!!
Excellent book. It really has everything I was looking for, as a beginner. Thorough and musical. Highly reccomended.
