Garry Steckles has a passion for Marley and this is a tremendously good read that covers the man from birth to death, from nobody to superstar; about his roller coaster ride to fame and the folks who rode with him; the tragedy of his loss at an early age he himself predicted. As much as I have enjoyed Marley's sound, now I feel I know and appreciate more the man behind it. Well done.
I am a huge fan of bob and tiggy Marley. I was raised in a largely Jamaican community in Brixton, south London and knew all about him , or thought I did until I read this book . It makes the description of him as The Legend, an understatement! He still is. I played some of his music to some patients in a drug and alcohol rehab, average age 30 and to my amazement the yknew ALL the lyrics. I thought I was introducing them to Reggae, the music of my young years- and life- and the beat goes on. If anyone wants to know about the Marleys, beautifully and exquisite ly written, this is the book
Not only was this book amazing, it made me feel like I was right next to Bob the whole time. The author was a great writer and this book was truly heart warming!
This was a great book. The writing was very cohesive and told a very detailed story of Bob Marley from birth to death. I read the book in just a few days, which is a testament to how easy it was was to move through and how fascinating I found the context. This was my first Bob Marley book and I am certainly much more interested in him now as a result of having read this book.
Love this!! What an easy and informative read. You'll find yourself lost within the pages, it is so interesting!I love Bob Marley's story and music and you will too after reading this one.
this is the first book i have read on marley. some other reviewer mentioned that this was a good introductory book. totally agree.very easy to read, not too overloaded with details.
A simple, concise biography on the life of Bob Marley. For Marley enthusiasts, this book is nothing new or enlightening. Nevertheless, it is a good read and very thorough in content.
