This is an amazing journey through Hip Hop from its very inception and how it immediately impacted the culture of the late 70's and early 80's told in exciting and easily digestible classic oversized Treasury edition comic format. The art crackles with energy and makes the dramatic early origins of these Hip Hop heroes feel as powerful as those of the Marvel Universe it draws its inspiration from. The oversized pages evoke the comic books of the 70's right down to the purposely yellowed pages, offset color separation and newsprint scent! Now that's attention to detail! If you're a fan of Hip-Hop or Comics, or both this book is highly recommended.

Very entertaining and educational history of hip hop. I love the oversized pages and thick paper stock. Nice artwork and writing work very well together. I would love to get another volume with a history of the ensuing couple of years.
Highly recommend this comic if you are a true Hip Hop Head. Looks like a comic from my younger days with the story of a culture that I love and respect. It is a true reflection of Ourstory of Hip Hop.
I purchased this for my son as a gift. He is a big Hip Hop fan. He was actually speechless when he saw it. In fact he did not even know this existed until I made the purchase. He is delighted and awaiting the next volume which will be released later.
