Rented it for class, didn't know this book normally hase 3 cd's. I need them for class, but (as far as I know) you don't get the cd's when renting. So know that before you rent the book.
The narration of this book is based more on the opinion and story of the author rather than an informative textbook. I only bought this book because it was required for one of my classes, otherwise, I would not have even considered it at all.
The book is story-like, I am not a fan of that style as I prefer the authors get straight to the point when writing on diverse topics. The chapters are fairly lengthy, but it was everything I needed for a class that required this book
Good, Informative book with Insightful information which is not only over the History of Music, but over the History of the Locations which produced that specific music genre, style, or instrument.
It's a very interesting book with a lot of different unexpected topics and information. The book also makes you learn more about music in many different ways, that you never would of thought of.
The book came with a large cut through it, almost like a box cutter sliced the cover and first couple pages. Very disappointed in the way I received the book to rent for the semester
I looked through the book and it looks like it will be an interesting read, also great knowledge for the things I know nothing about.
