This is a very beautiful book, the full page botanical and insect illustrations are superb.I purchased this book as a Christmas present for my daughter who is a medical herbalist,but would really rather like to keep it for myself!Glennis.
After viewing some of the original artwork in this book when visiting the Cooper Hewitt Museum in New York City, I purchased this beautiful book. I have actually framed several of the prints which are adorning my living room wall. The book would also make a great coffee table book as the pictures are worth viewing over and over.
Though this book is beautifully printed, the nature of it is not what I was looking for. I was hoping for full page color botanical prints. What they have done is take portions of botanical art, blow it up and crop it to make a very contemporary book. Lovely but not my bag.
I received this book in beautiful, brand new condition, and while it is lovely I am extremely disappointed by the complete lack of names and descriptions for any of the plants and insects. It's a great coffee table book but if you're interested in botany, this is not for you.
I loved the book. It has so many beautiful images of butterflies and insects with flowers, fauna. The images will be easy to frame, which I am planning to do.
I framed the some of the prints in the this book for my dining room and master bedroom. Such a great book and an inexpensive way to decorate.
