If you plan on traveling and want something that is real basic to help you get around, then this is perfect. If you actually want to learn the language more in depth, do not buy this. You will learn the basics, for example, quick sentences for traveling, numbers, letters, days, etc. It does not teach sentence structure or how to write in Norwegian for those who are trying to teach themselves.
Berlitz makes the best-organized phrase books, and the CD has native speakers (women and men) reading many of the most important phrases. Helped me get through a week in Norway without always having to resort to English.
