Can't really critique the music...it is classic. We purchased this book for our daughter who is performing a solo in front of judges in school. The kids are penalized if the music is supposed to have an accompanist and they don't play with one. And usually, if you find a French Horn solo piece sans accompanist, it is very difficult. This book offers a variety of music with varying difficulty and does not require an accompanist. I believe it is music she will be able to use offten in the years to come.
Having returned to playing the horn after a number of years off it is good to play these old friends.Wendell has taken into consideration the range and playing characteristics of the horn in this arrangement, so that the suites are a true joy to practice and perform.Though never easy they are a staple of my musical day.
