These are some of the best big band songs ever written. I think that this book is well organized and the music is arranged very well. Some of the songs that appear in it are: "The Continental", "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy", "In the Mood", "Marie" and many more! If you want to have the best time ever on the piano, this is the book that you should buy. I give it a five star rating!
I had not played trumpet for 40 years. I was quite good in high school and now that I am retired decided to start playing again. I wanted a book that would have tunes from the big band era for trumpet because I believe that some of history's best trumpet players and tunes were in the 40's. After an extensive search I found this book that has been reprinted thank goodness, because it hits the nail right on the head. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants real trumpet music that is still listened to today. Service was excellent.
I like the song variety in this book. I use the book for vocal lessons, and the arrangements are simple enough for my teacher to sight read.
This book is particularly good for someone playing the piano. It is a great source of big band songs. The music is not very difficult to play but the arrangements are very satisfying.
