Ebooks To Download

This book presents a broad overview of the key issues in modern environmental economics with a focus on understanding and solving urban pollution challenges in developed and developing nations. By embracing "free market environmentalism", this book explores how cities and nations can achieve the "win-win" of economic growth and reduced urban pollution. Special attention is paid to the incentives of households, firms and governments in reducing the production of pollution. The book examines a number of urban pollution challenges including; air, water, noise, garbage pollution and the global challenge of climate change. Unlike other environmental economics books, this book focuses on how to harness free market capitalism to solve environmental challenges.Matthew E. This text contains a number of intriguing economic principles relating to the environment, is easy to understand, and very cheap! That being said, this text needs heavy editing. Some examples are weak or the conclusions are arrived at too quickly. The charts and graphs are so elementary. Still, I have a feeling this environment text is much more palatable than its competitors.

this is my review:the book is too chatty and not enough topics covered. I tried to look for disclosure/transparency instruments (e.g. for toxics release inventory etc) and could not find anything in the book beyond the basic urban stuff.

The book is extremely well-written and thoughtful, and it introduces some very complex ideas in the form of intuitive examples. It's thinner on the public choice than I would like and that would've cost it a star, but it gets five stars for a) being available for $1 (!!), b) for the resources like old exam questions and links to online lectures, and c) for being written in such a way as to appeal to anyone. I suspect that even people who have never studied economics will be able to follow the arguments and examples.

This is a good introduction to environmental economics. He covers a broad array of topics without ever becoming too technical. For a dollar you won't find a better book.

UCLA Professor breaks down the fundamentals in environmental economics. Easy read with modern, easy examples. Even if you do not understand economics, you will be able to get through this book.

Fantastic resource for understanding the entire landscape of environmental issues...
