We purchased this hymnal to use with our children during our family worship time. It has a nice selection of older and newer hymns including all of the classics. The low price allowed us to purchase enough for everyone to share (we bought four).
This is a great all around hymnal. It has such favorites as "Great Is Thy Faithfulness", "Amazing Grace", "O, For a Thousand Tongues to Sing", "Sweet Hour of Prayer", as well as some newer type songs like Andrae Crouch's "Through It All", and "My Tribute", and Michael W. Smith's "How Majestic Is Your Name". It contains a wide selection of Easter and Chrismas hymns, many favorites. I even noticed a couple of "Glorias" in it. With over 600 pages of hymns and readings this is a terrific hymnal for any congregation, or for personal devotional time. It is a reasonable price, too. I highly recommend it.
Our church purchased several of these hymnals to replace the United Methodist Hymnal. We have been pleased with it's song selection. There are not a large number of more contemporary songs, but it has a variety of older, more traditional hymns. It has a nice appearance, and appears to be durable. The price was very reasonable, especially after pricing hymnals at local christian bookstores. We are very pleased with this product.
I decided to purchase this hymnal after a pastor friend shared hers with me. It has great arrangements of some of the more familiar hymns, but also contains many new songs that I love. I am proud to have the opportunity to add this hymnal to my collection.
It seems that, in nondenominational churches, the old hymns are being phased out. I got this hymnal for strictly personal application, as a sentimental link to my childhood in churches where these hymns were sung and appreciated. This includes so many of my childhood and teen favorites, and the words are such a blessing, always applicable, not just for "then"!
I had one already and needed more. I knew what I was ordering and I am satisfied with what I got.
Hymnal arrived quickly and is in excellent shape for a previously used hymnal. It has a great selection of hymns and is a good book to add to my hymnal collection and obsession.
I love this hymnal- it contains it contains a wonderful blend of ancient and more modern hymns and worship choruses.
