I am a 51 year old woman learning how to play the alto saxophone. This is the best book I have ever purchased for self learning of musical instruments. The DVD taught me how to assemble, clean, handle and disassemble my saxophone. The instructor also taught me the proper fingering of the notes. I could not see this in other books. He is an exceptional instructor and I am going to purchase this book for my grandson. I highly recommend this book for beginners.
Our kid uses this in school, and she has taken the flute lessons to her keyboard. I think she will use beyond this school year. Of course, we had to buy this for her band class, so with that said, if you are looking a good beginner book, it works for our kiddo. Our kiddo does like the book and finds it easy to play her flute with.
Bought two books for my husband and he loves this one, everything he needs is right there displayed on the page he is looking at- when he needs it, so he doesn't have to flip through the book to find what exactly they are referring to at that moment. It starts at the beginning and takes you through to more complex ideas/methods. The other book I got him was frustrating and he NEVER uses it (Rhythm Master the Band Method). Both are for Sax Tenor B flat.
My son just started Trombone lessons at school and this was the music book they are using. I was happy to see that  carried it. We rec'd the book in the mail within a couple of days.
I did a method book comparison and picked this one as my favorite! It has plenty of exercises at the beginning of the book for slow starters and lots of duets to play. Love it!
Im sure this is a great book! We accidentally ordered the flute book when we needed the TROMBONE book, but we know the trombone book is good, so Im sure the flute book is also!
Perfect for my 10 year old beginning percussionist. There are plenty of basic scales and songs to keep him busy and learning. He's pleased with the book as well.
