I used this book for my third and fourth graders. It takes the stress out of learning notes. There are music selections for any occassion and it is fun to use. There are fun pictures, theory excercises that the students have fun doing, and pictures that show where the students should place their fingers. I would strongly recommend this book for beginners or even an adult who would like to learn to play.

My son got a recorder along with all 3rd graders at his school. He used this book and played the online game and was playing songs in one day by himself. The theory notes on just about every page are very helpful. After a few weeks, he is playing all the songs in the book and has asked to learn flute next year in band. I wish I'd had a book like this when I was a kid!

My 4th grade students used this book for the recorder recitals. We loved how it was a mix of classics as well as some songs that are more familiar to them mixed in.

Great method book for beginning recorder students grades 3-6.A CD is available for separate purchase rather I recommend using this along with the music practice program SmartMusic by the company MakeMusic. It's a paid subscription service that is renewed annually - it has this method available for practice.

Really great recorder book for my 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders to use. Its supposed to have a play along CD. If mine came with one I don't know what I did with it. There's no built in CD slot in the book so I don't even know if it came with one. Maybe the tracks are online? There is a pretty cool website you can interact with if you have a microphone for your computer.

I've been an elementary music teacher for 11 years, and this is by far the best book to teach recorders. If you have the Smart Music program, this exercise book is loaded into Smart Music. There is also a website, [...] that corresponds with the first 12 pages.

We had the option of purchasing the book & recorder for my kid to use in school. This is the book they use, and it was quick and easy to find. My kid is really enjoying learning the recorder.

Book arrived in excelent condition and it is the exact one my child is using in the classroom.Would recommend it.
