I'd say I fall into the category of late intermediate / advanced, and I really like this book for playing at church. I've found several good arrangements in it. My only complaint is some of the stuff is TOO advanced, in that it's not easily sight-readable for me. (I could learn it, but don't want to put in the time it would take.) So if you're an advanced player and don't mind practicing a little, this is an awesome book to add to your library. Otherwise, if sitting down and sight-reading with minimal hard-core practice is more your style (like me), you might want to look elsewhere.... or just stay clear of the back of the book.
So many beautiful hymns with great chords-no improvisation is needed as it's all there. I would recommend this book to any church pianist looking for preludes, offertories or postludes. Very well written.
There is a great mixture of styles and difficulty in this selection. The first half are for intermediate with the last half more challenging. Even in the easy pieces, the harmonies are unusual enough to keep your interest. I am enjoying playing these very much and have had many compliments. I recomment it highly. It is a great addition for any pianist.
