I bought this as a Christmas gift for my retired dad who wanted to learn harmonica as a hobby. He is quite pleased with it, and says he has learned 3-4 songs in less than a week, using just the book. I like the multi-media approach.
This book with dvd will get you started in playing the harmonica. I was so impressed with the instructor that i bought the same for my niece for Christmas.
I purchased this for my husband, who has some breathing difficulties. He loves the DVD, the CD, and the booklet. He is enjoying learning to play the harmonica, and it has helped to expand his lungs. The instructions are very easy to follow.
This set for the beginner is clear and concise. It has good structure to get you to learn many techniques, great examples, and three formats to follow. But as with anything you need to practice, practice, AND practice to make it pay off.
The information in the booklet and video are very helpful. I was playing the harmonica based on listening to other musicians. This information helps play the instrument better.signed-Glad.
I really like this course. I'll start with a caveat - not everybody mouths the harp the same way; not everybody kisses the same way. Having said that, this is a very nice, all in one, introduction to playing the harmonica. And if you didn't catch it, he's playing a Special 20. You can pay more, but for a plastic body harp, it's hard to beat.I like the videos. He's charismatic and very helpful. And I appreciate the depth the workbook goes into. Transitioning from the arrow system to sheet music.All in all a nice, complete, beginner package: DVD, CD, book. It's all in there.
