I’ve always loved art. From the time I was a child, growing up and watching Bob Ross paint happy little clouds, the joy of creating something beautiful with my hands has inspired me. So I dabbled; first in watercolors, then in oils, then in acrylics, and grew to love painting even more. I would always get asked, though, about the differences in types of paints, or the types of brushes to use, even what to do with the painting when it was finished. So I decided to create an instruction book. It’s my belief that everyone who has the desire can make beauty when they set brush to canvas, and if that’s what you’re wanting to do, then that’s what we’re going to do!A little preview of what we’re going to cover in this book. First, I’m going to explain the difference between acrylics and oils - both are worthy artists’ tools, but we’re sticking solely with acrylics here. I’m also going to explain the types of acrylic paints; the types of brushes and creative non-brush alternatives (limited only by your imagination!); various types of canvases; and some tools of the trade. I’ll explain about the color palette and mixing colors, and we’ll have a few practices using these techniques. Finally, we’ll discuss preserving your painting, so you can keep it fresh and able to show off. By the end of this instructional eBook, you’ll have the basics down, and all that’s left will be to take what you’ve learned and make some amazing acrylic paintings of your own!

As the title suggests "Acrylic Painting For Beginners" really does cover all you need to know before you actually start painting. Please note that I wrote "BEFORE actually start painting", because this book is not about acrylic painting techniques or styles like most of the other books. It basically help you up to the point where your canvas are in place on the easel and you dip the paint brush into the paint. It describe the different materials and supplies you need and actually contains a starters shopping list with links to the products.Well written and a great acrylic painting starter guide!
This book is perfect for the beginner. The author teaches you about different paints and most importantly, different brushes. He details how to used different brushes and what you can create with them. One special aspect of this book was how the author explains to reader how to open the mind to see the vision of what you want to paint.
This book delivers exactly what it claims, from explaining what acrylic paints are to helping beginners understand brushes and how to mix paints properly. The instructions are very clear and easy to understand. There are some pictures of paint brushes, but it would have been nice to see some pictures of paint mixtures as well. And perhaps the book could have gone a step further by explaining brush strokes and techniques. But for the price, this is a perfect primer and I recommend it for the absolute beginner.
This little book is full of nuggets. I had stopped painting for about 20 yrs and forgot some key things. The author truly makes you feel at easy and its a very fast read so you can get to creating.
As an e-book on the kindle system, it was probably worth the price. I personally found the material in this book to be too basic. It provided a high level explanation of materials, but very little about how to use them. If one has taken even a very short class of about an hour or two on acrylic painting, everything in this book should be known.
This book will help you negotiate the acrylic isles of your favorite hobby store, and give you courage to brave the sometimes overwhelming variety of choices available there.
Perfect for beginners, easy to understand apply to any level of learning. Would definitely recommend to family and friends. Can't wait to start
