Ancient Greece: The Legacy Of Aristotle (Mentor Of Alexander The Great)
Ebooks To Download

Immortalized by Intellectual Activity We have all heard of Aristotle. A pillar of the classical world of ancient Greece, he was one of the first and greatest philosophers to ever exist. Without him, our world and the Western intellectual tradition would be simply unrecognizable. Aristotle studied, and wrote and lectured on, every academic discipline you could probably ever imagine. His existence and work were critically important parts of the foundation of every subject of philosophy and science in existence today. Aristotle might seem like merely a great name from a foggy, incredibly distant past, but he should be highly valued by everyone alive today. It would be extremely difficult to find one academic subject which Aristotle did not study, and he was the one to begin the process of the categorization of the different disciplines of the arts and sciences. In this book, we will explore the dynamic, fascinating life of this great thinker. We will begin with his birth and boyhood, and then move on to his twenty years studying and teaching at the legendary Platonic Academy in Athens, his time in Assos (which included marriage and leading a group of philosophers of his own), his life at the Macedonian court acting as private tutor to a young Alexander the Great, and finally the years he spent running his own school, The Lyceum, in Athens. We will also discuss the philosopher’s works, as well as his general contribution to, and immense influence on, the Western intellectual tradition. An excellent book about the life and legacy of Aristotle. Concise and intelligible, the book has tons of information that we can learn. The first couple of chapters provide useful context by detailing the main stages of Aristotle's life and the political background behind it. The author also well presented his academic history and achievements. Finally, it summarizes the great thinker's philosophical and scientific contributions competently and well.

This is a very informative book about his life and contributions which readers who love history would surely enjoy. Students will also absolutely find this a great reference book for them to use.

This is an excellent informative book. In here, you will learn about Aristotle, one of the most well-known philosophers of our world’s history. It is good to know that, there are still authors out there who write books like this dedicated to the Ancient philosophy and great thinkers. Overall, this book is well written and easy to understand. The author did a great job to write this book.I highly recommended.

Every serious student of history and or politics needs to read this book. Although I disagree with several of Aristotle's ideas, I recognize that he lived in a different time with a different understanding of human natures; however, there still remains much to enlighten us. I particularly like his analysis of the government of the many will require a large and strong middle class to survive.

A really good and detailed book about one of Greece great philisophers. Each chapter takes you into a part of Aristotle's life and how he lived it. I was always fascinated by how philosophers like Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle lived their lives. Now this book gave me a good insight into Aristotle's.

Interesting book and very useful reference if you're interested in the mythologies of the founders of European civilisation. Some of the language will seem rather archaic, but I think this was written in the late nineteenth century as a reference for schoolboys studying the classics. Great read. Highly recommended.

Good book for an overview on Greece's role in ancient history and the unique contributions Greece contributed to western civilization. My background on Greek history is somewhat studied. I've read a few books and seen a lot of documentaries on History Channel but this book was a great overview on Greece from history until the success kingdoms of Alexander. This is a good book for someone who has never read at all about Greece in addition to a good overview for someone like myself with a moderate background in Greek history.
