A quick but compelling book nonetheless. I love to read any mythology book and I gotta say that Greek mythology is one of my favorite subjects to read about. It's a well-informed book so it's a good reference book when writing a paper about the Greek mythology. Had a great time reading so will give this a 5/5.
Because I love Greek Mythology, this book did not escape me. And I'm glad that I did grab this because, one again, I get to read on my favorite Gods and Goddesses. It has always amazed me to read their stories. And this book has given me that pleasure again. I think this has been well written, interest will surely rise page by page. I love the way it has narrated the Trojan War and how the author made use of strong and vivid words. Yes, this book is quite a catch.
This was one of the best books on Ancient Greek Mythology that I have ever read. I've gone through a number of texts about Greek Mythology but I always find that books on this topic are either too brief and leave out crucial details from important myths, or they are too long and they go into excruciating minutia that is neither interesting nor important for understanding the myth as the Greeks did.This book strikes the right balance. It discusses all of the most important Gods, Monsters and myths from Ancient Greek society, and it gives these myths a thorough treatment so that you really understand the myth and the characters. On the other hand, it doesn't belabor boring or unnecessary points or engage in lengthy and boring attempts at interpretation; a real problem with almost all textbooks I've encountered on the subject.If I was only going to recommend one book about Ancient Greek Mythology, I have no trouble saying it is this one. This is a great read, full of facts, and entertaining (and sometimes hilarious) stories, while always staying fast paced and interesting rather than too academic and boring. Excellent!

If you have even a little interest in mythology, then this is one of the best books to start with. It is comprehensive, well written, and extremely enjoyable. It accurately explains gods, goddesses, myths, and legends. I consider this book a classic and a must-have read. Anyone who loves to read about mythology should own this book.
Greek Mythology is really such an interesting topic for me. From movies to books, nothing pass by me. I always want to make it to a point to have a hand of it. And this book is one of my victims. As I read the stories and narration, I was pleased with the way the author delivered them. For a beginner, reading greek mythology is puzzling. Someone should have a wide understanding of fiction stories. But yet, the author have made it easy for everyone. Greek myth is really entertaining for me. :)

This book bring me back to my high school days. I am an avid Greek Literature fanatic. It provides a complete history of Greek myth, telling the story of each of the great families of heroic mythology, and the various adventures associated with the main heroes and heroines. Those stories gave meaning to the world. No matter how much time has passed, the lessons and legends told by the Ancient Greek society often have a relevant message to convey to us even today.
