I was impressed by the cover book and I was not disappointed of the content inside. It was a really good guide with good basic information and had great topics to cover. It covered the history of Ancient Greece in a detailed and concise manner which made everything mesh and makes sense. The author organized this useful information and guide in a good way and chronologically to make the readers or students catch up quickly with the topics. I recommend it to everyone who wants to know more about Leonidas and the ancient history of Greece and how it came to be a great empire.
This another good history book of one of the Greek's great leader. This book exposed the life's story of Leonidas' great leadership especially in the fight to Persian invaders. I truly appreciate his great leadership and bravery especially in the battle of 300. What a great skills he has leading them fight the much numbered Persian warriors too.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is a period of history that I am very interested in and I have read a lot of books on this subject. I wondered if this book would have anything fresh to add or anything different. It certainly did. The author must have done a lot of research and must be very knowledgeable about this. It was interesting and informative in a very easy to read way.
This is a good book for someone who has never read at all about Greece in addition to a good overview for someone like myself with a moderate background in Sparta history. The book is not overly technical, but it does give one fair warning when a particular historical point isnot fully supported or open to different interpretations.I highly recommended this book.

Ancient Sparta has a certain magic to it, as being the dominant military power of it's time. The book very well captures the stardust that Ancient Greece holds to itself to this day. The story of Leonidas is worth the price in itself. For someone with a passion in European history, such as myself, books like this are gems and a pleasure to read.
I’m absolutely fascinated by ancient cultures and civilizations. I have read a few books on Egypt but never Greece. The author writes well and clearly takes an interest in the topic. Very well researched and some nice pictures included to complement the content.
