Excellent reference resource. 1,000 photographs of guitars, listed in chronicological order with the heaviest coverage from 1940 through 2013. There are a few pages with the wrong photo, maybe 6 or so, which isn't bad for 1,000 photos, and there are a few typos in the text toward the end but overall this is an extremely informative and entertaining book for any guitar nut. The photos are beautiful, the descriptions are interesting, and there isn't much else.The only improvement I can think of is to print it in a bigger format, but at that point it would weigh a ton.
If you love guitars, and love to read, then this book is for you! This is a great resource, a feast for the eyes and the mind. It's great to pick up and thumb through in no particular order, and revisit time and time again. A wonderful piece of work and worth every penny and more - a truly exceptional value.
I received this book as a gift and absolutely love it. The book is big and beautiful from beginning to end with detailed examination of guitars throughout history. People that don't play would marvel at the beautiful photos.
