Could be considered to be a textbook, where tons of information about ballet and individual ballets is explained, to bring a novice up to speed. Great for a newby to ballet appreciation, like me and possibly you...

I needed this book for a Ballet History class that I am taking this semester, but it has become so much more than just a text book. It's so rich in it's history of both ballet and how it is related to each particular time period and it's people!

This is a fantastic book that is scholarly as well as wonderfully written for all to enjoy. I would highly recommend it.

A great historical view of this dance for. A great bet for a gift for anyone who enjoys the ballet.
