I've been reading novels by Douglas E Richards for a while now.I stumbled upon "Wired" many moons ago, not long after I had typed in a google search "Authors similar to Michael Crichton". Being a huge fan of Crichton's writing, I was keen to find someone similar, who would fill the void and ensure my love of escaping reality through reading a great book could continue. The search had come up a little short in relation to the mix of action, suspense, twists and turns and technological expertise, all combined within a concept that pushed the boundaries of that which you knew to be true, yet laying things out so well....so comprehensively that your mind accepted what was within the particular work of fiction as more of a probability than a possibility.Richards, it seems, had read my mind, then put his into action! He consistently manages to pull off what many authors cant. Not only by incorporating his amazing idea's and backing them with enough logical scientific fact to make you believe, but by writing in a style that is seamless, making the journey through each of his books as easy as breathing, whilst never taking his foot off the accelerator!"Split Second" is yet another example of this man honing his craft. You dont need me to tell you about the book itself, that would be giving it away! Just know that if you love the idea of time travel interspersed with the question of the morality of its use and you are looking for a novel that is going to take you on a fast paced journey (down the rabbit hole!) with endless twists and turns.......something that will teach you about the nature of scientific possibility in an easy to understand, yet never "dumbed down" way....
