I have all three of these books and play offertories regularly from all three. I play by ear as well so at times I will embellish to add a little more to make it my own, but the way it is written is still quite nice.
Most pieces are more difficult than the examples suggested. It sure would be nice if most, if not all, the pages could be viewed much like one might flip through the book at a book store before buying. When it comes to music books, it's frustrating when you can only play a few of the pieces after paying so much for the book.
I always love music by Carol Tornquist. Although I havn't had a lot of formal training these are just the right amount of difficuty. They are always just beautiful.
Nice arrangements and very useful for services. The contemporary music, even if not known by the congregation, has wonderful melodies for preludes and offertories.
I am looking forward to learning the songs to play for church. They are very nice arrangements.I recommend this book.
