I will start this review stating that, for the record, I enjoy Mandy Roth's work. I don't expect her writing to be anything more than it is and I am never dissatisfied. One thing I really like about her work is her creativity and imagination. People who are harsh in their reviews of her work should stop and ask if they have ever written as much as she has, with as many different ideas as she has published, and been as creative in how they put the ideas to work for them.That said, this book was a typical Roth book for me. Fun, sexy, humorous at times, and with a clear problem needing to be resolved in order for the hero and heroine to not only come together, but also for them to live without fear of bad guys harassing them or attempting to kill them.The characters are developed without falling into the category of complex. Their motivations are clear and realistic. Their relationships to the tertiary characters are strong and clearly defined. I appreciate how the characters don't simply find love and good sex. There is always growth in the character as they grow to discover what their life will look like from this point forward. In life, each of our experiences shapes us and changes us, and I appreciate that in the world of the story, that happens as well.This story, being paranormal, has the fun and sexy aspect of the draw of a fated mate relationship between two supernatural characters. Roth has found a very enjoyable formula for the paranormal romance and she applies her ideas and creativity to it well.On the other side, the only thing I can really think of to suggest to her to make this story better would be to hire an editor that does more than simply fixing typos.
