The study of string instruments should include ensemble playing at the earliest possible stage. There is much to be gained from the playing of duets. Each player learns how to listen to the other, and in a short time develops an awareness of balance, musical phrasing, intonation, and tone quality. This is a great series for warming up before you get into the piece you're practicing. I like to play through the pieces for fun, rather than concentrating on any one piece in particular. There's a nice variety of styles to choose from. Volume III is where it starts to get a little challenging.
Contains a nice selection of well known pieces arranged for two cellos and accessible to those early on the learning curve. Had great fun playing these with my daughter.
Thus book contains wonderful pieces that will hone your skill and are beautiful pieces for performances as well. The two parts are perfect for student/teacher playing.
