Calligraphy for Creative Kids by Jim Bennett is the perfect choice for both kids and grownups who want to learn Calligraphy. It is arranged with a logical flow of information leading up to the exercises. Alphabets such as Blackletter Minuscules/Majuscules, Italic with Flourishes and some playful and fun alphabets are taught. My favorite part is the section where the alphabets are practiced by tracing a light gray version of each letter with your Calligraphy pen.
This is the best Calligraphy book for beginners because it has tracing pages just like penmanship books. As my daughter, for whom it was purchased, says, "You don't have to know anything to get started."
I am new to calligraphy and this was a great way to learn with practice sheets and all for each letter and it shows you 2 different fonts.
It has alphabets to trace plus practice pages. The end has some more advanced ideas that inspired my budding calligrapher. If you haven't bought pens yet, it even has recommendations for several common brands.
My granddaughter is looking forward to learning calligraphy. She is looking forward to practicing her skills.
Since it was a gift, I can only relate what the girl told me about it. she said it is very nice and easy to understand and she loves it.
This is an interesting book! I purchased this for my daughter for Christmas, and she loves it. I also have been using it. There are practice pages inside the book. Hours of fun here.
It says it is for kids, but I bought it for myself. It is incredibly easy to follow with lots of areas to practice. A good start for beginners.
