This book is a great beginner book and I highly recommend it to anyone starting violin (regardless of age). The first parts of the book is a lot of learning to read music, so if you already have that down it can get pretty tiresome, but the songs are well adapted for people who want to hear familiar melodies but are not advanced enough to do the original sheet music. I LOVE it!
Very good book. I take lessons and this is the book my instructor has me use. However, I must say that it is a good book even when I am not in class. It is easy to read print, appropriate level songs, and fun music to play. Good with or with out an instructor.
I'm a violin teacher and I'm always buying these strictly strings violin books on  for my students. They are really good, they have a lot of short songs, so students get more variety, instead of working on a long song for many weeks. They help students to read music at the same time as learning violin better than any other violin book I have used. This book also seems to be very usable for children or adults. I definitely suggest this series of books.
This is a very good music book for children beginning to learn to play the violin. It starts with explaining how to hold you bow and violin with nice illustrations. The lessons in this book go from basic to moderate playing levels. Everything that you will do in this book is explained in detail at the top of every page. There is an illustration also. There are some very nice pieces of music in this book also. I reccomend this book to any beginners.
I learned from this book in middle school, and just picked the instrument up again after 14 years. This book still holds up and is fantastic for beginners, or people wanting to just refresh their memory!
Excellent print, excellent timing, and excellent material. A job well done. Very satisfied. Wish the packaging was a little sturdier to protect the product. but i received it in good condition so i can't complain.
This is an excellent beginner book for violin. I have others but this one covers things for beginners the others didn't. My teacher uses this one. Also it's easy to understand. Not just for kids. I'm 61 and have made good use of this book.
Hi, I'd like to recommend this book to anyone who, like me, is starting learn violin or is trying to learn to play by yourselves. It is a great book which guides you step by step into reading music and transforming what at first sounds like a dying cat into the beautiful sounds of the violin.
