I bought this book to help me learn to play the guitar again. The book is as advertised. It includes many easy to play songs that only have 3 chords. It is also nice that the songs included are not limited to the same 3 chords over and over again. So you can learn to use many different chords. The reason I only gave 3 stars, is because there are only a few songs that I really want to learn to play. But, to be fair, it is a good book to learn chords and familiarize myself with the guitar again.
What a great book for starting or re-starting your guitar playing. The chord charts make it easy to get started. The huge selection of songs (separated by genre) are a real plus. I have around 20 highly rated guitar books, and this is my overall favorite!
Okay, as a new guitar player, I struggle with chord transitions, so wanted something that would be easy to play.While it does offer songs with just three chords, they're not always three easy chords.In addition, the songs sound pretty lifeless with just three chords.I plan to use this for practice, then look for higher quality arrangements.
I was so excited to find this book where I could practice my chords, but I knew next to none of the songs included. I'm still seeking 'THE' guitar learner's book...like my Daily Ukulele which taught me to play by making practice so enjoyable. Now to find 'the' guitar book.
Got this for the Christmas songs and learned to play a couple of them. There are some obscure songs that I might get to down the rode if I want to become a singing cowboy.
Yeap... all of the sounds have three cords. I'm a little disappointed in the selection and melodies. I think that a majority of these tunes pre-dates ... well ... lets just say they're well seasoned.
This was purchased for my husband who used to play the guitar as a boy, and is now beginning once again to experience the joy of playing the guitar!
Book had a lot o f familiar music some new some old, but was easy to follow. It was worth the money
