As a beginner, i love this book. Like all For Dummies, very cool, very well written, nice pace and extremely informative. I almost bought Guitar for Dummies and Rock Guitar for Dummies, but saw this 6-in-1 for less than the price of those two. I have started Guitar, Rock and Theory... they couldn't be more motivational if you are interested in the big picture of what the guitar is all about. Great book.My only complaint is that it'd be nice if it was spiral bound and sat flat...
A lot of book for a little money. It is easy to get over your head trying to read this one. Definitely covers everything but you have to find the right place to look. Great for learning theory but not very practical to lay on a table or music stand and try to read while holding a guitar, trying to practice and learn. Hal Leonard has much better books for beginners to learn from but this is a great reference that I will use for a long time as I continue to learn the guitar.
This book is good for theoric explanations about guitars but unfortunately is impossible dispense the help of a music teacher or at last a friend more experienced. Music is not a question of talent but instead a question of hardwork and thousand hours of training. Albeit is a great book.
WOW! This book has all the info you could possibly want. I'm not sure it replaces a live guitar instructor but the online instructional videos are a helpful step towards reaching your guitar playing goals.
This book is okay, and it teaches you alot. But I have always been a virtual/ hands on learner so I only read the first 10 pages and went online to watch videos to learn how to play. If you want to learn songs fast, easy, and get feed back while playing the songs, download Yousician and read this book after practice everyday.
This a great book for beginners, like me. The online clips and audios really make it great for learning how to nail down those chords.
As a beginner this book is great. Better then several others I have purchased.
