Arrangements are clunky because the arranger tried to keep the range below third space C. I guess this is the requirement for calilng these "easy" arrangements, but makes some of the carols difficult to recognize. I'm not really a beginner, so I take everything, or sometimes certain phrases, up an octave to fix it, but not sure many beginners could do that. I mostly wanted sheet music for Christmas Carols, so I was somewhat disappointed that it's more work than I wanted. I should have gotten the trumpet version or something, in a more easily playable range.
