For the first time, Star Wars(R) A Musical Journey (Music from Episodes I-VI): Instrumental Solos includes selections from all six Star Wars(R) movies arranged for flute, clarinet, alto sax, tenor sax, trumpet, horn in F, trombone, piano accompaniment, violin, viola and cello. The arrangements are completely compatible with each other and can be played together or as solos. Editing my review-- While the pieces won't be challenging for an intermediate player, it is still quite fun to play along with, and has cool orchestral (and even choral) backing tracks.It's a little disappointing to see some memorable themes from the classic trilogy are absent in favor of some fairly forgettable prequel pieces. This is personal opinion, though. Surely, Yoda's theme was at least more interesting than Anakin's theme, and March of the Ewoks, The Asteroid Field and the Han & Leia love theme from ESB were much more interesting pieces than some of the things that were included in this collection.All in all, fun stuff, though.
I bought this book for my son who is a budding trumpet player and avid Star Wars fan. He loves it and his trumpet skills have improved exponentially! The CD helps him to hear the notes and the book is easy to use.
I bought this for my son, who plays the trumpet. He loves this book - all of the songs are familiar, so he can challenge himself a little but all the while know what the song is supposed to sound like.

My son loves it. I purchased it to motivate him to practice during the summer break. It is easy enough not to be frustrating, but still enough to be a little challenging.
Bought this book to give as a gift to a 2nd year trumpet player. It's challanging for him, but being a Star Wars fan, he loves being able to play the music.
